INTRODUCTION
Dairy Ground (which is partly dedicated to crew camping) is one of the larger camping fields on site. It did not show up on the Festival map as a dedicated public camping field up until 2008 – and even then, this field was known as Dairy Ground and vice versa (with Paines Ground labelled Dairy Ground), for some “technical issues” regarding the printing of the sitemaps, until 2016 when it was finally corrected.
This camping zone descends directly from the path attached to Gate D and is a very convenient route to take for anyone planning to park their car in the Western car parks while entering the Festival site via that gate.
Dairy Ground is a good alternative to the more popular Pennard Hill and Park Home Ground (which tend to fill up very quickly come Wednesday afternoon) and will usually see the Thursday overspill with some camping space still available.
As with most of the Western orientated campsites, this field is a little less lively and quite a walk from the heart of the Festival and the Pyramid Stage.
Access to Dairy Ground is VERY quick via Gate D, from any other gate the journey there is quite long.
SUMMARY
A good alternative to the more popular Pennard Hill and Park Home Ground and those driving a long distance to the Festival on the Thursday – as long as you don’t mind being camped a bit far from the heart of the action.
