Keeping with tradition, Glastonbury 2025 has been confirmed to take place on the final weekend of June and is set to run from Wednesday the 25th, through to Sunday the 29th, at Worthy Farm in Pilton.
As ever, ticket demand for the legendary event always outstrips supply, and after the first wave of tickets all sold out last November, fans are on the lookout for any other way to get to Worthy Farm this summer.
Along with entering competitions or working at the Festival, one of the best ways to go to the Festival (almost) for free would be to volunteer at Glastonbury with a charity. This usually entails working 3 x 8-hour shifts over a 5-day period — which is basically the duration of the festival.
What you do with the remainder of your time is up to you, and if that’s not enough, volunteers often get access to a private campsite, free meals, and hot showers – yes, you read correctly, we said HOT SHOWERS! At Glasto!
Although you won’t have to buy a ticket to the festival, you will, however, be asked to pay a deposit when you sign up to volunteer (more or less equivalent to the ticket price) which you will get back when you follow the charity’s guidelines and complete all your shifts (which in some cases also include some training beforehand).
Below we’ve compiled a list of most of the causes & services that provide volunteering opportunities at Glastonbury Festival, along with everything you need to know regarding shift times, role requirements the application process and much more.
We’ll be updating this guide periodically once more information makes itself available, but meanwhile, take your time and read through each of the volunteering opportunities below.

Critical Waste prides itself on being “a sustainable waste management company that specialises in clearing up and recycling at events and festivals while offering sustainable waste solutions that can grow and evolve with each event”. The company’s other manifestation, ‘Festival Recycling’, has managed the waste at Glastonbury Festival since 2008. Along with the litter-picking teams whose job it is to clean-scan the fields, collections are made from each of the three bin types (food and compostables, bottles and cans and general waste) and returned to the on-site recycling centre. The entire operation consists of approximately 1,300 volunteers and staff that hand-sort the hundreds of tonnes of waste on the Festival site and at the plant and send it off to be recycled.
