Lime Kiln Ground campsite at Glastonbury Festival

Lime Kiln Ground

Located next to Hitchin Hill, Lime Kiln Ground sits at the northernmost edge of the site and is the closest camping area to the fence at the hill’s summit.

Like with its neighbouring field, Hitchin Hill, you will be exposed to magnificent vistas if you choose to make Lime Kiln Ground your home for the duration of the Festival. That said, keep in mind that it is a lengthy uphill plod back to your tent every night.

The nearest main area to Lime Kiln Ground is the newly named Woodsies (formerly the John Peel Stage), with the most convenient access point being Pedestrian Gate A, located just west of the field and only a short walk away, as shown on the map below.

Pros & Cons

Pros

Like the neighbouring Hitchin Hill, tends to be quieter due to being located on the periphery of the site.
Ideal for late arrivals as it doesn’t fill up as quickly as the other fields.
Has an excellent view south across the site including fantastic views of the legendary Glastonbury Tor.

Cons

This would not be a wise choice if you like the party nightlife, as your rebound back to camp after a long day’s rave will be an uphill toil back to your tent.
The festival nightlife areas are what can seem like a lifetime walk away, thus, not recommended for all you night owls out there who like to party until the early morning hours.
Beware of those slops.
