Fleetwood Mac drop massive hint about future headline spot at Glastonbury

Last year Michael Eavis said that Fleetwood Mac’s non-appearance to-date has been down to the cost of getting the group on stage

It just seems the Glasto Rumour Mill refuses to die down even with 2018 scheduled to be a “fallow year” for the beloved Worthy Farm.

As we reported back in July, Emily Eavis, festival organiser and daughter of festival founder Michael Eavis, has said that booking is already well underway for Glastonbury 2019 while taking to Metallica drummer and Glasto lover, Lars Ulrich, on his new Beats 1 radio show, It’s Electric!

Despite the thousands of artists that have already graced Glastonbury Festival’s legendary Pyramid Stage over the years, Eavis said there are still a few acts on her wish list she’d love to see up there, Fleetwood Mac being one of them.

“There are a few people I would love to get, like Fleetwood Mac, Tom Waits, Kate Bush, there’s a lot of people that haven’t done it.” Said Eavis.

Speaking to the Daily Express earlier today, Mick Fleetwood hinted “You will be satisfied one day!”, adding “One day we’ll just get on a plane and come over and do it”

“We have been asked several times to do it and it is only really been through circumstances that we’ve declined. I personally feel it will be a great thing to do…. My elder sister lives very close to the landowner and I am telling you how close we got to doing it…. She said he came over and got to know her and basically said ‘Give me Mick’s number’. He wasn’t really the promoter and he was trying to do it through the back door!”

Could 2019 be the year Fleetwood Mac finally take to the Pyramid Stage, maybe 2020 just in time for Glastonbury’s 50th birthday?

Watch this space.
