Could Glastonbury finally see Pink Floyd take to the Pyramid Stage?

Could 2019, or maybe 2020 (just in time for Glastonbury’s 50th birthday) be the year Pink Floyd finally play Glastonbury?

The London band have been on top of Glastonbury Founder, Michael Eavis’ wishlist for many years – speaking at a Glastonbury 2017 Q&A, Eavis raised his fears regarding ever seeing Pink Floyd perform at Worthy Farm. “They’re never going to reform are they?” Said Eavis.

That being said, back in February 2017 Nick Mason and Roger Waters did say they’d be more than up for headlining the Pyramid – that is if David Gilmour is willing to bury the hatchet.

Now, with Pink Floyd’s Roger Waters latest announcement regarding bringing his ‘Us+Them’ tour to the UK for the first time ever, Glasto-fans are formulating new hops of seeing a band reunion, eventually paving the way to the beloved Worthy Farm.

The 74-year-old, Pink Floyd legend, is set to play a series of massive outdoor gigs which will include Glasgow, Liverpool, Manchester and Birmingham, as well as Barclaycard presents British Summertime Hyde Park in London, where he will be headlining on Friday, July 6th 2018.

The tour will mark Waters’ first live appearance in the UK since releasing his new album ‘Is This The Life We Really Want?’ in June, and indeed his first time he tours Europe since The Wall Live, which was way back in 2010-2013.

This latest news about Waters follows hints that Fleetwood Mac could perform at Glastonbury in the next few years and suggestions from Michael Eavis that the festival could increase its capacity by an extra 30,000 tickets in the future.
