Glastonbury’s Emily Eavis accepted the award for Festival of the Year for the 2nd year running!
Glastonbury Festival has been crowned Festival of the Year for the second year running by the Music Week Awards 2018.
Last year, Worthy Farm’s legendary Pyramid Stage saw performances from Radiohead, Foo Fighters, and Ed Sheeran. The likes of Liam Gallagher, Stormzy, The xx, Lorde, Alt-J, Boy Better Know, Phoenix, Kano, Dizzee Rascal, Halsey, and Solange also played across the weekend, with The Killers making a surprise appearance on the festival’s final day.
Festival organiser Emily Eavis accepted the award from host Lauren Laverne, with Eavis saying: “We’re taking a year off so see you in a couple of years.” – which actually guarantees there to be a new winner in 2019.
This year is set to be a fallow year for the festival, which means there is no Glasto in 2018 in order to allow the grounds and wildlife of Worthy Farm to recover.
Glastonbury Festival will return on Wednesday, June 26, 2019, and run till Sunday, June 30.
There have yet to be any headline confirmations for Glastonbury Festival 2019 as of this moment. That being said, as every year, the Glasto Rumour Mill starts spinning almost instantaneously.
