Both of the former Oasis stars will reportedly be kept apart at this year’s Glastonbury Festival
The rumour of Oasis playing Glastonbury has been making the rounds for quite some time now (to put it mildly), with the bookies giving them a 18/1 chance to headline Glastonbury 2019.
With all that being said, the iconic Brit-pop band have yet to reunite since they split up in 2009, not to mention headline Glastonbury, which they last did as Oasis back in 2004.
With less than six months until the gates open for Glastonbury 2019, Liam Gallagher has been strongly rumoured to be the sub-headliner on the Pyramid Stage at this year’s festival.
An insider told The Daily Star that: “Liam will be second to last act on the Main Stage Friday night, just before headliner Stormzy.
“He should keep all the old indie heads happy with some big songs.”
The national newspaper also claims that the “insider” has leaked the news that both Liam and Noel Gallagher are set to perform at the festival separately, as they did back in 2017.
Back then, both brothers performed the Oasis anthemic song ‘Don’t Look Back in Anger’ at separate times and by doing so opening everyone’s appetite even more for the long-awaited reunion to happen.
In 2017 Liam performed Don’t Look Back in Anger at Glastonbury’s Other Stage, while big brother Noel appeared for a more low-key Q&A at the small William’s Green tent, where he led the audience in a sing-along to the song.
The newspaper also claims that Noel is set to play on the Saturday (29th June) of the festival, the day after his younger brother Liam.
As of the time of writing, Glastonbury Festival has yet to officially confirm the appearance of either Noel or Liam.
In other Glastonbury 2019 news, earlier this morning (11th January) The Chemical Brothers teased that there might be one more “special” gig set for this summer.
Whilst the full line-up isn’t set to be revealed until the end of March / beginning of April – Stormzy is the first headliner to be confirmed for this year’s Glastonbury Festival, along with Janelle Monae, who will headline the West Holts Stage.
It has also been confirmed that Kylie Minogue will be taking to the Sunday tea-time legends slot on the Pyramid Stage.
Glastonbury 2019 will take place between June 26 and 30 at Worthy Farm, Pilton.
