Stormzy reveals he “cried for an hour” after Glastonbury headline set

“I came off stage and thought I’d totally, absolutely blown it,” he said

Following Stormzy‘s praised performance at Glastonbury Festival earlier this year – The 26-year-old now reveals that he thought he blew it.

In fact, the grime artist said he “cried for, like, an hour” after leaving the Pyramid Stage, fearing he’d “f***ed” his headlining performance.

In an interview with Q Magazine, Stormzy now says that due to a tech failure during his set, he thought it was “the worst thing” he’d ever done.

“The thing about Glasto, and I’ve not told anybody this, but I had no sound,” he said.

“My in-ears blew after about 20 minutes, so I had no sound for the whole thing. It was the most difficult thing I’ve ever done.

“When I walked off stage, I thought I’d f***ed it. I thought it was the worst thing I’d ever done.”

He added: “I came off stage and thought I’d totally, absolutely, blown it. I was crying for, like, an hour. I was in hysterics.

“I thought I’d f***ed it up. Heartbroken, man. Heartbroken.”

After the set, Stormzy said it was only after he spoke to Festival organiser Emily Eavis at which point he eventually realised his gig had in fact gone “went all right”.

“Then after calming down for an hour,” he said, “Some of the people at the festival, Emily Eavis and that, gave us a memory stick to watch it back.

“And I got about halfway through and I was, like, ‘S**t, I think it all went all right.’”
