After announcing their split last August, London-based, indie group, The Maccabees, reveald a conglomerate of final shows with support from Mystery Jets and Idles. Playing three shows in Birmingham, Glasgow and Newcastle before heading to Manchester and London during June and July. Alongside the shows, it now appears that a Glastonbury Festival appearance will also be on the cards.
Though not officially revealed on yesterday’s full line-up unveiling, a quick glance on EE‘s cited the band as part of the bill in a ticket competition. It advertised: “Radiohead, Foo Fighters and Ed Sheeran will be top of the bill on the Pyramid Stage – but there are also plenty more eye-catching acts for music fans to look forward to. R&B star Solange is among the acts playing the West Holts Stage while chart-topper Rag’N’Bone Man will perform on the Other Stage. Other highlights include Katy Perry roaring into the festival for her Glastonbury debut, grime star Stormzy and indie favourites The Maccabees, who will be playing one of their final farewell shows before they disband.”. That mention has now been deleted.
As mentioned, yesterday’s Glastonbury announcement saw almost 2,000 names added to the bill, with 47 ‘TBA’ slots also showing on various main stages. Liam Gallagher has also been rumored to take one of these slots though nothing has been confirmed as yet.
