Could The Streets be heading to Worthy Farm next year?
The brief announcement came from Mike Skinner while speaking to BBC Radio 1’s Annie Mac earlier today (19th December).
In an answer to a question from one of Mac’s listeners regarding whether Skinner has any plans for playing Glasto next year – “Basically I’m going to Glastonbury this year, but I can’t say whether I’m performing or not…” said Skinner.
The Streets frontman then went on to say that he’s been “doing a thing at The Rum Shack” which he’s hoping to do next year again, “as a DJ… I’ll be DJing at The Rum Shack”.
Reading between the lines, there’s a strong possibility The Streets will be on the bill too.
Mike Skinner previously played at Glastonbury’s Rum Shack (situated inside Glastonbury’s The Common) in 2017, where he hosted a DJ set from Tonga, the club night he co-founded alongside Murkage Dave.
You can listen to the full interview over at BBC Sounds – they start talking about Glastonbury at around 35 minutes in.
In related Glastonbury Festival news, Kylie Minogue was officially confirmed as the ‘legend‘ for Glastonbury 2019, a moment that’ll mark the Aussie pop queen’s first solo appearance on the Pyramid Stage.
Glastonbury 2019 will take place between June 26 and 30 at Worthy Farm, Pilton.
