Could Boy George & Culture Club play Glastonbury 2019’s Legends slot?

Boy George

Michael Eavis is considering Boy George‘s Culture Club for the infamous Legends slot at Glastonbury 2019

The Sunday afternoon slot aka the Legends slot has become somewhat of a Worthy Farm tradition.

Every Glastonbury year the afternoon slot – which takes place on the Sunday of the festival every year – has hosted in the past the likes of Dolly Parton, Neil Diamond, Shirley Bassey, Paul Simon, Lionel Richie, and Tom Jones just to name a few.

As we reported last week, Michael Eavis was attending the Bath Boules charity event which took place at Bath’s Queen Square on 12th June, where he was the guest of honor in a night called  ‘An Evening With Eavis’.

During the event, Eavis shared stories with the attendees about everything from music and festival nudity, to social housing and self-esteem, while also talking about the joy of “giving back”.

The event featured music, clips from the festival, delicious street food and a Q&A, amongst other things.

One of the event attendees took the opportunity to grill Michael Eavis for any line-up hints and asked the Glastonbury founder about the likelihood of the Legends slot being filled by Boy George.

“I suggested to Michael Eavis last night that you and Culture Club would be perfect for the Sunday afternoon Legends slot,” wrote Jamie Jamal on his Twitter account. “He thought it was a great idea!”

Glastonbury Festival is set to return to Worthy Farm Wednesday, June 26, 2019, and run till Sunday, June 30 – at the time of publishing, Mike Pickering’s Hacienda Classical is the sole act confirmed for 2019 so far, after Pickering dropped the news on Radio X back in December.

There have yet to be any headline confirmations for Glastonbury Festival 2019 as of this moment. That being said, as every year, the Glasto Rumour Mill starts spinning almost instantaneously.
