Festival-goers enjoyed glorious sunshine yesterday as Glastonbury 2025 truly kicked into high gear with the first day of the main music schedule. Standout performances from Alanis Morissette, Biffy Clyro, and the weekend’s first headliner, The 1975, energised the crowds on a day that offered a welcome change from the damp weather earlier in the week.

Friday brought clear skies and temperatures reaching a pleasant 25°C — ideal conditions for dancing across the fields of Worthy Farm. The warm spell is expected to continue, with temperatures predicted to soar to a sizzling 34°C by Monday, promising more sunshine for festival-goers.

The 1975’s headline set was one of the most talked-about moments of the evening, though reactions were divided. While some fans praised Matty Healy’s daring stage presence, others drifted away early, telling our reporters that the performance simply “wasn’t their vibe.”

Alongside the music, there has been plenty of star-spotting around the site — Celebrities such as Louis Tomlinson and footballer Andy Carroll have been spotted emerging from their luxury tipis to soak up the festival atmosphere.

Friday also featured exciting sets from Busta Rhymes, Self Esteem, CMAT, and PinkPantheress, all of whom delivered electrifying performances before The 1975 closed out the night. A special surprise came when Lewis Capaldi made his first full-scale return to the Pyramid Stage in two years, thrilling fans with a heartfelt show. Lorde also made an unexpected appearance, opening the Woodsies stage with a complete performance of her new album Virgin.

As we move into Saturday, the festival buzzes with anticipation. Tonight’s Pyramid Stage promises another blockbuster evening with headliners Neil Young and the Chrome Hearts, joined by RAYE, Patchwork (the mysterious band performing under a pseudonym at 18:15 BST), John Fogerty, The Script, Brandi Carlile, and the Kaiser Chiefs.

If you’re not at Worthy Farm, don’t worry — Glastonbury’s BBC live stream will begin around 11:30 BST, so you can catch all the action from the comfort of your home. Stay tuned to this live page for continuous updates and commentary throughout the day, bringing you every moment as it happens. Enjoy the day!

😈 Doechii delivers a fierce Glastonbury debut

In just 45 electrifying minutes, American rapper and singer Doechii made a bold and unforgettable Glastonbury debut — proving exactly why she’s one of the most exciting rising stars in music today.

Taking to the West Holts Stage, the self-proclaimed Swamp Princess — a playful nod to her Florida roots — delivered a high-octane performance packed with energy, choreography, and flair. With a crew of backing dancers sliding down props and climbing across the set, it was less a gig and more a spectacle.

Throughout the set, Doechii showcased her musical versatility — rapping, singing, and dancing with effortless command of the stage. The crowd roared along to tracks like Persuasive, Anxiety, Denial Is A River, and Alter Ego, all delivered with precision and passion.

Despite the relatively short set time, the performance felt like a defining moment. Doechii’s headline slot wasn’t just a milestone in her rapidly rising career — it was a statement. For 45 dazzling minutes, she made the rest of the festival disappear. That’s the power of a truly magnetic performer.

🔥 Charli XCX Burns ‘Brat’ Sign in Dramatic Glastonbury Finale

Charli XCX brought a theatrical flourish to Glastonbury 2025 on Friday night (27 June), using her headline set on the Other Stage to draw a bold line under the Brat era.

Although she took to the stage a few minutes behind schedule, the pop provocateur wasted no time in making a powerful statement. As her set began, a large sign reading Brat — the title of her acclaimed 2024 album — was dramatically set alight, symbolising the close of a transformative chapter in her career.

Over the past year, XCX has moved from cult favourite to bona fide global star, earning widespread critical acclaim, sell-out tour dates, and a surge in cultural relevance thanks to the Brat era’s bold visuals and club-driven sound. But Friday’s performance suggested she’s ready to evolve once again.

Burning the sign wasn’t just visual spectacle — it was a message. Charli XCX appears to be closing the book on one of the most successful and defining periods of her artistic journey, with Glastonbury providing the perfect stage to mark such a moment. As thousands watched on and millions tuned in, one question now looms large: what’s next for Charli?

Whether it’s a sonic reinvention or something even more unexpected, fans will be watching closely. And if her Glastonbury set was anything to go by, the next chapter is bound to be just as bold.

🎸 Neil Young kicks off Glastonbury 2025 headline set with acoustic classic

Legendary singer-songwriter Neil Young has returned to Worthy Farm to headline once again (after last doing so back in 2009), opening his highly anticipated set with a poignant acoustic performance of his 1968 classic, Sugar Mountain.

The Canadian icon began his set alone on stage, guitar in hand, delivering a raw and heartfelt rendition that instantly captivated the Pyramid Stage crowd. Despite decades in the music industry, Young’s voice retains a uniquely weathered richness — the kind that only deepens with age and experience.

⛔ Woodsies Stage Temporarily Closed Due to Overcrowding

Glastonbury organisers have confirmed that the Woodsies stage has been temporarily closed this evening due to exceptionally high footfall in the area.

The closure comes shortly after Tom Odell completed his set to a packed crowd. The popular stage had already been drawing large audiences throughout the weekend, but numbers reached a peak today, prompting festival staff to act in the interest of safety.

Despite the temporary closure, the area is expected to reopen in time for the evening’s headline performance. Scissor Sisters are still scheduled to take to the stage at 22:30 BST.

Festivalgoers are being advised to monitor official channels and on-site announcements for further updates, and to explore other stages in the meantime.

✅ Pulp revealed as (not so secret 😉) ‘Patchwork’

After weeks of speculation and fan theories, the cat is finally out of the bag: Britpop legends Pulp have taken to the Pyramid Stage for a long-rumoured “secret” set at Glastonbury 2025 — performing under the alias Patchwork.

While the listing may have tried to keep things under wraps, it was one of the festival’s worst-kept secrets. Now confirmed, the Sheffield band opened their performance with iconic anthems Sorted for E’s and Wizz and Disco 2000 — the very same songs they first played at Glastonbury three decades ago.

The crowd was treated to a wave of nostalgia as Jarvis Cocker and the band kicked off the set with unmistakable energy, marking 30 years since their legendary 1995 appearance that helped define a generation.

Fans gathered in force, many having guessed the true identity of the mysterious “Patchwork” slot in advance — speculation that turned into euphoria as the first chords rang out and the Pyramid crowd realised they were witnessing a rare and iconic moment in British music history.

✅ Haim confirmed for Secret Set on The Park Stage at Glastonbury

The worst-kept secret is out — Haim will take to The Park Stage at Glastonbury tonight (Saturday, 28 June) at 7:30pm for a long-anticipated “secret” set.

While the appearance has only now been confirmed, clues have been circulating for months. The trio announced a one-off show in Margate for 27 June — just a day before their now-confirmed Glastonbury slot — strongly suggesting they’d be making a stop at Worthy Farm.

This evening’s performance marks a return to The Park for the Californian sisters, who first played there in their early Glastonbury days before graduating to the Pyramid Stage in 2022. With the release of their latest album, I Quit, earlier this year, tonight’s show will feel like both a homecoming and a fresh chapter.

🎤 Kneecap perform ‘Better Way to Live’ to huge Glastonbury crowd

Irish rap trio Kneecap delivered a powerful moment on stage at Glastonbury with their stirring live performance of ‘Better Way To Live’, their collaboration with Fontaines D.C. frontman Grian Chatten.

Shared by the band’s manager, Daniel Lambert, new footage from the performance shows a sea of festival-goers stretching to the horizon — a striking visual testament to Kneecap’s ever-growing following. The video captures the crowd fully immersed as the group performs one of their most talked-about tracks to date.

Originally released earlier this year, ‘Better Way To Live’ has been praised for its urgent political edge and genre-blending sound, with Chatten’s voice adding a haunting weight to Kneecap’s fierce delivery.

It’s another milestone moment for the Belfast group, who continue to make waves both musically and culturally — and judging by the reaction at Glastonbury, they’re showing no signs of slowing down.

🧩 Who Are ‘Patchwork’? All signs point to Pulp in Glastonbury’s big secret et

It’s Glastonbury’s most talked-about mystery — and perhaps the worst-kept secret on site. Slotted for the Pyramid Stage today, Saturday 28 June, from 6:15pm to 7:15pm, an unannounced act called Patchwork has sparked intense speculation. And all signs now point to one very familiar name: Pulp.

Much like the Foo Fighters’ surprise 2023 appearance under the alias The Churnups, this year’s cryptic billing has fans convinced another major band is poised to make an unannounced return. The strongest evidence centres around Pulp, the Britpop icons who recently released More — their first album in 24 years — on 6 June 2025. With a conspicuous gap in their UK tour schedule aligning perfectly with Glastonbury, many are reading between the lines.

Adding fuel to the theory, keyboardist Candida Doyle recently mentioned her love of patchwork quilting in an interview on BBC Radio 2 — a detail now seen as a potential in-joke. While official sources have issued denials, Glasto-watchers believe this could simply be part of the act — a deliberate smokescreen to preserve the surprise.

With the set due to kick off at 6:15pm, fans are already converging on the Pyramid Stage in anticipation of what could be one of the festival’s standout moments.

📡 Neil Young reverses decision: Will now be broadcast live at Glastonbury tonight

Just hours before taking to the Pyramid Stage this evening, Neil Young (79) has had a dramatic change of heart. Initially, he requested that his headline set not be televised by the BBC. A BBC spokesperson commented: “We are delighted to confirm that Neil Young’s headline set from Glastonbury on Saturday will be broadcast live to audiences across the UK on the BBC” This marks a complete reversal from his earlier decision, when he reportedly declined to perform due to discomfort with the BBC’s involvement, only to later attribute the initial refusal to “an error in the information received”

So, how can you watch? Neil Young’s set begins at 10 pm BST and will be streamed live on BBC iPlayer via the dedicated Pyramid Stage channel. Viewers can also catch it on BBC Two and tune in via BBC Radio 2. On-demand services remain under development for later viewing.

Glastonbury 2025: Saturday Crowd Update and Advice

🗓️ Saturday, 28 June 2025

Welcome to Day 4 of Glastonbury 2025! The festival is buzzing with energy as thousands of music lovers gather to enjoy another warm summer day at Worthy Farm. With temperatures expected to stay high, don’t forget to follow our heat safety tips to stay cool and hydrated throughout the day.

This afternoon, the South East Corner will come alive with dancing and music, so expect busier-than-usual crowds in that area. At 4pm, the band Kneecap will take to the West Holts stage, drawing a large crowd. If you’re not heading there, it’s best to plan alternative routes to avoid congestion. For those attending, please follow stewards’ instructions and have a backup plan, as the field may reach full capacity and need to close temporarily as part of crowd control measures.

Later this evening, Kate Nash is set to attract a big audience to Left Field at 9pm, so arriving early is advisable to secure your spot. At 10:30pm, both the Scissor Sisters at Woodsies and Charli XCX on the expanded Other Stage will see high attendance. We may need to close these fields at capacity, and multiple entrance routes will be open for Charli XCX to help ease crowd flow. A slightly longer walk might offer more space and a better viewing experience.

Large crowds will also gather at the Pyramid and Park stages, both equipped to handle high numbers comfortably. Meanwhile, the late-night venues, especially Arcadia, will be extremely popular. Crowd diversions will be in place at times to help you find clear space and enjoy the atmosphere safely.

Please note that some tented venues may operate a ‘one in, one out’ policy once at capacity, and diversions around busy areas are possible. Always listen to stewards and be patient—they’re here to keep everyone safe.

As the night winds down, remember that leaving larger stages takes time. Moving slowly and calmly will help disperse crowds more efficiently. Also, keep in mind there are many alternative routes around the site—often the shortest path isn’t the fastest. If you encounter very crowded spots, consider heading towards quieter areas such as the Dragon’s Tail, the hill above The Park stage, or the open spaces above the Tipi field and Green Fields.

Enjoy your day at Glastonbury, and stay safe out there!
