Emily Eavis confirms female artist for Glastonbury 2019 Sunday Legends slot

Emily Eavis

Glastonbury 2019 Sunday Legends slot is set to feature a non-UK female artist!

Earlier today (Thursday, July 5), Emily Eavis went on Jo Whiley’s BBC Radio 2 show to discuss plans for Glastonbury Festival 2019.

Whiley asked if there are any headliners in place for next’s years festival yet, to which Eavis replied: “Yes, we’ve done our first sort of draft of the Pyramid Stage, this is where we’re at”.

Eavis then added that: “I think we’ve finally found our Sunday TeaTime Legends slot”  – “Who is it?” Whiley, bluntly asked.

“Oh no, I can’t tell you” replied Eavis with a smile, just to shortly after confirm “it is a female” and that she is “not British”.

The Glastonbury Festival curator, also mentioned that tickets will normally go on sale round about October, with the Glastonbury line-up announcement to follow after.

Whiley then went on to mention that Paul McCartney was interviewed on the same show just a couple of week ago, and passed the message from Macca to Eavis, that he would “be up for it”.

“We always want him” replied Eavis, “of course, he’s top of our list, but we’ll have to see” – as obviously curating the Glastonbury line-up is never as easy at it seems.

Feel free to listen to the Glastonbury part of the interview below:

Glastonbury Festival is set to return to Worthy Farm Wednesday, June 26, 2019, and run till Sunday, June 30.

At the time of publishing, Mike Pickering’s Hacienda Classical is the sole act confirmed for 2019 so far, after Pickering dropped the news on Radio X back in December.

There have yet to be any headline confirmations for Glastonbury Festival 2019 as of this moment. That being said, as with every pre-Glastonbury year, the Glasto Rumour Mill keeps on spinning.
