Glastonbury 2022 FAQs: Tickets, dates, line-up, rumours and more

Everything you need to know about Glastonbury Festival 2022 so far…

Glastonbury 2022 is getting closer with every passing day and if you already have a ticket that has been rolled over from 2020, or you’re planning to try and get a ticket in the resale, then now would be a great time to start thinking about how you’re going to do it and get to one of the most sought after events in the world next year.

With Glastonbury Festival being forced to cancel both its 2020 and 2021 editions due to the coronavirus pandemic, in addition to most recently also having to axe its September Equinox gig idea “for a number of reasons” – demand for the Worthy Farm-held event has never been so high.

Before scrolling down to all the FAQs – please note, there is no way you can buy a Glastonbury Festival ticket unless you’ve pre-registered. Therefore, please keep in mind that before anything, you want to register on the official Festival website (more on this below) and make sure all your crew who want to attend do the same.

Also, please take into account that the resale(s) date may be subject to change and has yet to be officially confirmed.

General Questions:

Will Glastonbury definitely be happening in 2022?

At the time of writing these lines, Glastonbury 2022 is currently set to go ahead.

In a recent interview, Glastonbury’s founder Michael Eavis expressed his vigorous confidence in the legendary Festival returning in 2022. Asked if he was feeling optimistic about the Worthy Farm-held event coming back next summer, Eavis replied: “Oh yeah, absolutely. Psychologically we’re feeling so good and so high at the moment. We’re on a bit of a roll.”

What dates will Glastonbury 2022 take place?

The dates for 2022 have been confirmed as Wednesday, June 22 to Sunday, June 26.

How much will tickets for Glastonbury 2022 cost?

Tickets for Glastonbury 2022 will cost £280 + £5 booking fee. Glastonbury states that every effort was made to keep this increase on the 2020 ticket price of £265 as low as possible, despite inflation and the impact of two forced cancellations.

I paid a deposit for Glastonbury 2020, which was rolled over to 2021, what will happen to my ticket now?

Ticket deposits that were valid at the point of the 2021 Festival being cancelled can be automatically rolled over to a like-for-like booking for the 2022 Festival. A like-for-like booking means that coach package deposits for 2021 will roll over to coach package deposits for 2022, and general admission ticket deposits for 2021 will roll over to general admission deposits for 2022. It is not possible to swap from a coach package to general admission or vice versa.

You will not need to do anything for your ticket booking to roll over, however, if you would prefer to cancel your booking and receive a full refund of your deposit (and coach fare if applicable) without incurring any cancellation fees, you can do so, up to 31st December 2021, using the online form here to request a refund, up to the end of September 2021.

Any refunds will be issued to the original payment card. If you choose to cancel after 31st December 2021, the usual admin fees will apply.

Please note that the 2022 Terms and Conditions, which have been updated to reflect the extension to the free cancellation deadline to the 31st December 2021, apply to all bookings, including those rolled over.

Do I have to do anything to make sure my deposit is carried over?

No, ticket deposits will automatically be carried over for the 2022 Festival. You would however need to pay the 2022 remaining ticket balance during the 2022 balance payment window.

Both UK and International ticket balances will be payable in the first week of March 2022, when you will also be able to add car park tickets and cancellation protection to your booking (see CANCELLATIONS & LOST TICKETS for more information).

If the ticket price for 2022 changes, would I pay the 2022 price?

Yes, whilst your deposit will be rolled over to a like-for-like booking, the remaining balance payable will be the balance of the 2022 ticket price, not the 2020 ticket price.

I’ve paid my deposit and want a ticket for 2022, when do I need to pay the remaining balance?

The remaining ticket balance for tickets rolled over to 2022 is payable during the April 2022 balance payment window. The remaining balance will be calculated from the 2022 ticket price which will be confirmed prior to the free cancellation deadline.

Balance payments on existing deposit bookings are payable in the first week of March 2022 (from 09:00 Tuesday 1st March – 23:59 Monday 7th March 2022).

You can pay the balance for up to 6 tickets in one transaction, providing you have all paid a deposit and they are all the same ticket type. By grouping your balance payments together you will only pay one postage and packing fee. You will need to provide each of their registration numbers and postcodes in order to pay their balances.

Please note that you can only pay the balances together if they are for the same type of ticket, so you can pay the balance on up to 6 coach packages together, or up to 6 general admission tickets together, but you can’t pay the balance on a mix of general admission and coach packages in the same transaction.

It is your responsibility to remember to pay your balance.

Any tickets for which the balance has not been paid by 23:59 on Monday March 7th 2022 will be refunded £25. A £25 administration fee will be retained.

Ticket Resale Related Questions:

I didn’t get a ticket for 2020, will I still get a chance to book tickets for 2022?

Tickets for Glastonbury Festival 2022 are sold out, with deposits paid for the 2020 Festival having rolled over. However just as Glastonbury were due to have a resale in April for the 2020 Festival, any tickets for which the deposit is refunded, or the balance is not paid, will be made available in a resale in April 2022. To book tickets in any sale you will first need to be registered.

Registration remains free of charge and only takes a few minutes at www.glastonburyregistration.co.uk. If you are already registered with the Festival, you do not need to re-register. However, Glastonbury would advise you to check your existing registration here and update your photo if it is no longer of a good likeness.

Please note, registration does not guarantee you a ticket (and in recent years, demand for tickets has outstripped supply).

Tickets purchased in resales after March 8th 2022 must be paid for in full at point of booking.

Line-Up Related Questions:

Who has been confirmed for the Glastonbury 2022 line-up so far?

The first line-up taster for Glastonbury 2022 will probably not be unveiled by the Festival’s officials until the end of March/beginning of April, with the full line-up usually being unveiled towards the end of May.

That being said, with the cancellation of Glastonbury 2020/2021 due to the COVID crisis, one could speculate that a lot of the acts which had been booked for 2020 will roll over to 2022.

In addition, there are many artists who ‘self-confirm’ prior to the official announcements, by divulging the news during interviews, via social media or website listings.

As of the time of writing, Diana Ross is the second artist to be officially announced as playing the 2022 edition of the Festival, with the first being Billie Eilish who was officially confirmed back in October, and who will be taking to the Pyramid Stage on the Friday night – which will subsequently make her the Festival’s youngest ever solo headliner.

The most recent big-scale artists added to the Glasto rumour mill include Queens of the Stone Age, in addition to Crowded House which have confirmed themselves for a performance at the 2022 event, and Noel Gallagher who said he will be up for playing if asked.
