Glastonbury 2022 FAQs: Tickets, dates, line-up, rumours and more

Everything you need to know about Glastonbury Festival 2022 so far…

Glastonbury 2022 is getting closer with every passing day and whether you already have a ticket that has been rolled over from 2020 and still need to pay your balance, or you’re planning to try and get a ticket in the resale – now would be a great time to start thinking about the what, when and how.

With Glastonbury Festival being forced to cancel both its 2020 and 2021 editions due to the coronavirus pandemic, demand for tickets to attend the Worthy Farm-held event has never been higher.

Before scrolling down to all the FAQs – please note, there is no way you can buy a Glastonbury Festival ticket unless you’ve pre-registered. Therefore, please keep in mind that before anything, you want to register on the official Festival website (more on this below) and make sure all your crew who want to attend do the same.

General Questions:

Will Glastonbury definitely be happening in 2022?

Yes. As of the time of writing, Glastonbury 2022 is currently set to go ahead.

In a recent interview, Festival founder Michael Eavis expressed his vigorous confidence in the Worthy Farm-held event returning, saying it’s “definitely happening” this year.

Furthermore, Glastonbury organiser Emily Eavis has recently said that the team is all “in full festival mode”.

What dates will Glastonbury 2022 take place?

The dates for 2022 have been confirmed as Wednesday, 22nd to Sunday, 26th of June.

How much will tickets for Glastonbury 2022 cost?

Tickets for Glastonbury 2022 will cost £280 + £5 booking fee.

Glastonbury states that every effort was made to keep this increase on the 2020 ticket price of £265 as low as possible, despite inflation and the impact of two forced cancellations.

I paid a deposit for Glastonbury 2020, which was rolled over to 2021, what will happen to my ticket now?

Ticket deposits that were valid at the point of the 2021 Festival being cancelled can be automatically rolled over to a like-for-like booking for the 2022 Festival.

A like-for-like booking means that coach package deposits for 2021 will roll over to Coach Package deposits for 2022, and General Admission ticket deposits for 2021 will roll over to General Admission deposits for 2022.

Please note it is not possible to swap from a Coach Package to General Admission or vice versa.

Do I have to do anything to make sure my deposit is carried over?

No, ticket deposits will automatically be carried over for the 2022 Festival. You would however need to pay the 2022 remaining ticket balance during the 2022 balance payment window.

Both UK and International ticket balances will be payable in the first week of March 2022, when you will also be able to add car park tickets and cancellation protection to your booking (see cancellations & lost tickets for more information).

It was possible to use the online form to request a full deposit refund (with no administration charges) up to 31st December 2021. Tickets that are cancelled after 31st December 2021, or for which the balance has not been paid by 7th March 2022, will be charged an administration fee of £25 per ticket and refunded £25 per ticket.

Please note that the 2022 Terms and Conditions, which have been updated to reflect the extension to the free cancellation deadline to the 31st December 2021, apply to all bookings, including those rolled over.

I’ve paid my deposit and want a ticket for 2022, when do I need to pay the remaining balance?

The remaining ticket balance (calculated from the 2022 ticket price) for tickets rolled over to 2022 is payable during the 2022 balance payment window.

Balance payments on existing deposit bookings are payable in the first week of March 2022 (from 09:00 Tuesday 1st March – 23:59 Monday 7th March 2022).

You can pay the balance for up to 6 tickets in one transaction, providing you have all paid a deposit and they are all the same ticket type. By grouping your balance payments together you will only pay one postage and packing fee. You will need to provide each of their registration numbers and postcodes in order to pay their balances.

Please note that you can only pay the balances together if they are for the same type of ticket, so you can pay the balance on up to 6 Coach Packages together, or up to 6 General Admission tickets together, but you can’t pay the balance on a mix of General Admission and Coach Packages in the same transaction.

It is your responsibility to remember to pay your balance.

Any tickets for which the balance has not been paid by 23:59 on Monday, March 7th 2022 will be refunded £25. A £25 administration fee will be retained.

I’ve booked a Coach Package, will the cost of the coach also be rolled over?

If you had booked a Coach Package for the 2020 Festival, the deposit and coach travel will be rolled over for a like-for-like booking to the 2022 Festival.

I’ve booked a Coach Package, will the coach departure point still be the same for 2022?

If you had booked a Coach Package for the 2020 Festival, and have had the booking rolled over to 2022, See Tickets has been said to try and keep the coach departure locations the same.

I booked a Coach Package for 2020 but don’t want to get the coach in 2022, can I change my booking

Your deposit will only be valid for a like-for-like booking, if you had booked a Coach Package, your deposit will only be valid for a Coach Package for 2022. If you no longer wish to travel by coach, you will need to cancel your existing booking and try for a General Admission ticket within the ticket resales in 2022.

I’ve booked a Campervan Pass / accommodation at Worthy View / Sticklinch / an onsite Tipi, what will happen to my booking?

Accommodation bookings that were valid at the point of Festival cancellation can also be rolled over for a like-for-like booking for the 2022 Festival. You will not need to do anything for the booking to roll over.

I didn’t manage to book Accommodation for the 2020 Festival, will I still be able to book accommodation for 2022?

There was a resale for Accommodation cancellations in September of 2021. At this point in time, it is yet to be known whether there will be any additional Accommodation resales.

I’ve booked private accommodation/travel/holiday/other third party expenses, will these costs be reimbursed?

If you have booked private accommodation or travel through a third party you will need to liaise directly with the company, organisation or person you made your booking with or seek a refund via your travel insurer. Glastonbury Festival takes no responsibility for services offered by third parties.

I am a local resident who booked a Sunday Ticket for Glastonbury 2020, what will happen to my ticket?

Sunday Ticket bookings that were valid at the point of Festival cancellation can be rolled over to a like-for-like booking to the 2022 Festival. You will not need to do anything for the ticket booking to roll over. You will automatically be assigned to the equivalent bus option for the 2022 Festival.

Is Glastonbury free for children?

Everyone aged 13 or over on Wednesday 22nd June 2022 (when the Festival gates open) who plans to come to the Festival, must have booked a ticket to attend.

Children aged 12 and under do not require tickets and do not need to register.

My child who did not require a ticket for the 2020 Festival will be 13 by the time of the 2022 Festival, what should I do?

If your child has or will turn 13 since you booked tickets for the 2020 Festival, and before the gates open for the 2022 Festival, please submit their registration at www.glastonburyregistration.co.uk and once you have their registration number, please contact us using the ‘Any Other Enquiries’ option on the Festival Contact form as soon as possible ahead of 31st December 2021, for information on how to book an additional ticket.

You may collect a child wristband for children attending with you from the KidzField or the various Information Points once you have entered the Festival site.

Anyone under the age of 16 MUST be accompanied to the Festival by a responsible adult (who must be aged 18 or over and who would usually be the parent, carer or legal guardian).

When booking a ticket for a child aged 13, 14 or 15, you must select the ‘CHILD’ ticket option, and confirm that their parent, carer or legal guardian has consented for their data to be processed.

When booking tickets for children aged 13, 14 or 15, and/or bringing children aged 12 or under with you to the Festival, you will be required to confirm you are aged 18 or over and accept full responsibility for all under 16s in your group.

Those who are aged 16 or 17 are allowed to attend the Festival unaccompanied, but it is strongly advised that this decision is made with the consent of a parent or legal guardian.

If I change my mind after 31st December 2021 will I still be able to get a full refund?

It was possible to use the online form to request a full deposit refund (with no administration charges) up to 31st December 2021. Tickets that are cancelled after 31st December 2021, or for which the balance has not been paid by 7th March 2022, will be charged an administration fee of £25 per ticket and refunded £25 per ticket.

After 31st December 2021 up to 6th May 2022 deposits (and bookings for which the balance has been paid) will be refundable subject to the applicable admin fees, as outlined in the 2022 Terms and Conditions, which have been updated to reflect the extension to the free cancellation deadline of 31st December 2021.

I can’t make it in 2022, can the ticket be made valid for a different future Festival?

No, if you would not be able to make the 2022 Festival the booking would not be valid for a different future Festival. You would need to cancel the ticket booking and be issued with a refund.

If I cancel my deposit now, can I have priority for 2022 or a future booking?

There will not be any priority given to those who choose to cancel their ticket booking. If you choose to cancel your booking and later decide to try for a ticket to Glastonbury 2022 or a future Festival, you would need to go through the ticket sale process as normal.

I cancelled my booking before the 2020 Festival was cancelled, can I get my booking reinstated?

If you cancelled your booking before the Festival was cancelled, it will not be possible to reinstate the booking; however any cancelled tickets will be made available in a resale in 2022, so if you have cancelled your deposit, you will have the chance to book again when tickets go on resale in 2022.

I didn’t get a ticket for 2020, will I still get a chance to book tickets for 2022?

As previously mentioned – Tickets for Glastonbury Festival 2022 are sold out, with deposits paid for the 2020 Festival having rolled over. However, just as Glastonbury were due to have a resale for the 2020 Festival, any tickets for which the deposit is refunded, or the balance is not paid, will be made available in a resale in 2022. To book tickets in any sale you will first need to be registered.

Registration remains free of charge and only takes a few minutes at www.glastonburyregistration.co.uk. If you are already registered with the Festival, you do not need to re-register. However, Glastonbury would advise you to check your existing registration here and update your photo if it is no longer of a good likeness.

Please note, registration does not guarantee you a ticket (and in recent years, demand for tickets has outstripped supply).

Tickets purchased in resales after March 8th 2022 must be paid for in full at point of booking.

When is the Glastonbury 2022 ticket resale?

As of this moment, the Glastonbury ticket resale dates have yet to be confirmed. That said, the resale is most likely to take place sometime in March of 2022, as not only is it after the balance payment window (which closes 7th March 2022), but the VAT on event tickets – which was temporarily reduced to help the hospitality industry during the pandemic to 5% (before rising to 12.5% on October 1st) – is scheduled to go back up to the full 20% on the 1st of April 2022.

It is worth noting that in previous years the spring resales often took place in April.

Are there any other options for getting tickets apart from the resale Glastonbury 2022?

When is the Glastonbury 2022 line-up released?

Glastonbury organiser Emily Eavis has recently confirmed that the first line-up poster will be released in March, with individual area line-ups to follow – before the full line-up plus times will finally drop in June.

Who has been confirmed for the Glastonbury 2022 line-up so far?
