Atchin Tan — Glastonbury Festival’s dedicated space for Romany Gypsy, Roma, Irish Traveller and Traveller communities — is set to return in 2025 with its most powerful and wide-ranging programme to date. Nestled in the Theatre & Circus fields, the space will be alive with music, performance, critical conversations, and artistic expression, all rooted in cultural pride and political awareness.
Announcing their return to the Festival on Wednesday (4 June), Atchin Tan wrote: “We’re absolutely brimming with excitement to announce that Glastonbury’s ONLY Stopping Place at Theatre & Circus is back with a blistering lineup for Glastonbury2025, including incredible slots by Twinnie, Riah Knight, and Songs of Roma!”

Running from Wednesday, 25 June to Sunday, 29 June 2025, this year’s Atchin Tan will serve as a powerful platform for community voices and storytelling. The event kicks off with a special fireside welcome on the Wednesday night, setting the tone for a week of reflection, celebration and connection.
✨ Festival Highlights
- Twinnie, the country-pop powerhouse, will bring her energy to the Flying Bus stage in the Unfairground on Thursday and Saturday, with additional sets on the Gateway Stage and in the Atchin Tan tent on Friday.
- Songs of Roma will breathe life into traditional Roma music across both the Gateway Stage and Flying Bus, complete with a Roma dance workshop at the Atchin Tan tent.
- Acclaimed British-Romani artist Riah Knight teams up with folk musician Thomas McCarthy for an atmospheric Saturday fireside session, then joins forces with Seed Sistas for a compelling talk on resistance and indigenous knowledge.
- Celebrated writer Damian Le Bas returns with a reading from his highly anticipated new book, The Drowned Places: Diving in Search of Atlantis (2025), and a performance on the Flying Bus stage.
- In-depth discussions will tackle urgent social issues and historic moments, from the 40th anniversary of the Battle of the Beanfield to Traveller rights, LGBTQI+ experiences and more. Speakers include Billy Welch (Appleby Fair), Dr Sindy Joyce, and Marc Willers KC.
- Interactive workshops offer hands-on experiences in artmaking—from screen printing to cyanotype tapestry creation—encouraging expression through craft and community collaboration.

A major visual feature of this year’s programme will be the striking bow-top wagon tower, which will once again stand tall in the Theatre & Circus field. For 2025, it will be painted by celebrated Romani Gypsy artist Daniel Baker, whose work has appeared at the Venice Biennale and documenta fifteen.
On Thursday night, Atchin Tan will also host a full takeover of the Flying Bus stage, presenting a specially curated mix of music, poetry and community performances that promise to captivate festivalgoers.

“Atchin Tan means ‘stopping place’, and at Glastonbury it’s where stories, heritages and communities meet,” said the organisers. “This year’s line-up reflects the strength, pride and creativity of Romany Gypsy, Roma, and Traveller communities—and we invite everyone to listen, learn, and celebrate with us.”
📌 What Is Atchin Tan?
Named after the now nearly vanished traditional stopping places used by nomadic communities across Britain, Atchin Tan is a space for awareness, education and celebration. It shines a spotlight on the lived experiences, histories and artistic contributions of Romany, Irish Traveller, Roma and other nomadic groups—not only within the festival but across the wider UK cultural landscape.

🗺️ New 2025 Festival Map Released
On 17th May, the first public version of the Glastonbury 2025 map dropped on the official website, complete with updates and changes for this year’s edition.
Some of the changes include more space for the Other Stage field, which means a scale back for the adjoining Oxylers campsite. Elsewhere, public camping space has decreased in Bushy Ground, South Park 2, and Pennards — unlike Pylon Ground, where it has increased. The reduction has made way for more staff camping in Bushy and South Park 2, as well as expanded family camping in Wicket and Cockmill fields.

⛺ Camping Guide
When camping at Glastonbury Festival, remember, each campsite has its pluses and minuses, and every person has their varied wants and needs — it’s not a “one size fits all” scenario.
Your Glastonbury ticket price includes access to all the camping fields, which means you can choose to pitch your tent anywhere within the designated camping zones that reside throughout the Festival fields, spanning from right next to the Pyramid Stage, to more tranquil areas on the outskirts of the Festival.

🎒 Packing List
The backpack room is tight, and that space is at a premium – If you can’t carry or wheel it in, it’s not coming in, and therefore, preparation is key.
There’s far more to surviving a Glastonbury than just tossing up the tent and placing down the sleeping bag, it’s the minute details that will help you survive the weekend.

🎟️ Ticket Opportunities
Although all tickets have already sold out, there is currently still one competition running for the chance of winning Glastonbury 2025 tickets from Tony’s Chocolonely ticket competition.
The final batch of General Admission tickets for the 2025 Glastonbury Festival sold out in just 19 minutes last month, after going on sale at 9am on Sunday, 27th April.
Keeping with tradition, only pre-registered buyers could access the online sales as part of Glastonbury’s continued drive against ticket touting.
Hundreds of thousands of Glasto-fans were up bright and early, ready at their computer screens in the second of two ticket resales for the chance of buying tickets for Glastonbury 2025 — after tickets completely sold out when they originally went up for sale last November.
Last November saw the first main wave of tickets, which included tickets packaged with coach travel selling out in just 32 minutes, before General Admission tickets were all snapped up in 35 minutes.
