Glastonbury has finally revealed its first announcement line-up poster for the 2025 edition of the legendary festival.

Since last year’s Worthy Farm event wrapped up, there has been much speculation about who will be headlining this year’s anticipated event at Pilton this June.

This morning (Thursday, 6th March), at 7:59am, Festival officials finally revealed the first line-up poster for Glastonbury 2025 — in it, confirming headliners The 1975, previously announced Neil Young, and Olivia Rodrigo, who will be taking to the iconic Pyramid Stage on Friday the 27th, Saturday the 28th, and Sunday the 29th of June, respectively.

Meanwhile, Rod Stewart (who like Young was announced prior to the line-up poster revelation this morning) is set for this year’s coveted Sunday afternoon tea-time Legends slot — which by many, has come to be seen as the fourth headliner slot of the event

The poster (shown below) – which for the first time since 2010 boasts day breakdowns – features 95 acts in total, including such names as Loyle Carner, Charli XCX, Biffy Clyro, The Maccabees, Lucy Dacus, Father John Misty, RAYE, Wolf Alice, The Prodigy, Doechii, St. Vincent, Gary Numan, Deftones, Scissor Sisters, The Libertines, Wet Leg — and first-time appearances from Alanis Morissette, Doechii and En Vogue.

Elsewhere across the weekend are the likes of Weezer, AJ Tracey, Future Islands, JADE, TV On The Radio, Self Esteem, CMAT, Blossoms, Jorja Smith and Turnstile.

This is the first announcement of the main poster ever made on the 6th of March, and the third earliest line-up announcement on record — with the prior two being the 3rd of March in 2023, and the 4th of March in 2022. Last year, however, saw the poster drop towards the middle of the month with the announcement coming on the 14th of March.

Last night (Wednesday, 5th March), Glastonbury organisers posted a short video of a phoenix rising from ashes to their audience of approximately 905,000 followers via social media, in what fans took as an indicator that the rumours circulating of an 8am line-up drop the following morning is strongly on the cards.

Earlier this year, Neil Young was announced as the first headliner for Glastonbury 2025 after he initially pulled out of the festival due to it being “a corporate turn-off”. The Canadian-born singer, songwriter icon said: “We were told that BBC was now a partner in Glastonbury and wanted us to do a lot of things in a way we were not interested in.”

However, Young then backtracked on these remarks shortly afterwards, acknowledging that there had been “an error in the information received”. “Happily, the festival is now back on our itinerary and we look forward to playing! Hope to see you there!” he wrote.

Meanwhile, Rod Stewart was announced for this year’s coveted Legend Slot late last year, while Nile Rodgers accidentally let it slip that he and Chic are set for a performance at Glastonbury 2025.

Other prominent acts who have self-confirmed before the line-up announcement today included Lola Young, who confirmed she’ll be back at Worthy Farm this summer while being interviewed on the red carpet at the BRIT Awards 2025, and Drum & bass pioneer Goldie also confirmed his return to Pilton after revealing he’ll be back at Glasto this June with his live show for a performance at The Glade.

The first line-up poster is usually revealed around the beginning of March, followed by the full line-up announcement sometime at the end of May (and a string of individual area line-up announcements in between). That said, many artists ‘self-confirm’ before the official announcements by divulging the news via interviews, social media or website listings to accompany the ever-growing rumours.

Today’s announcement was just the first run of acts in a string of many more to come, with organisers promising that so many more artists, stages and performance areas are set to be announced in the coming months.

Ticket Opportunities

The Glastonbury 2025 Autumn ticket sales took place last November with the introduction of a new queueing system, which saw Ticket Plus Coach Travel packages and General Admission tickets sell out within 32 minutes and 40 minutes, respectively.

In addition to the upcoming ticket re-sales (expected to go on sale in the spring), some other opportunities for getting to Glastonbury include volunteering and working at the Festival, as well as entering competitions (once those options make themselves available).

Just recently Brother Cider, who have once again been confirmed as the ‘Official Cider’ of Glastonbury Festival for 2025, announced that they are giving away 5 pairs of tickets to this year’s event.

Some other chances for winning tickets in previous years included opportunities from The Guardian, Vodafone, Time Out, White Claw, Tony’s Chocolonely & Oxfam, Chilly’s, Hunter Boots, Barbour & Oxfam, Co-op & Brooklyn Pilsner, and more.

The sold-out Glastonbury Festival is set to return this summer and runs from the 25th to the 29th of June 2025 in Worthy Farm, Pilton, Somerset.

⚠️ Bogus Operators

Glastonbury Festival would very much like fans to be aware that there are people out there who will try and sell fake Glastonbury tickets to unsuspecting, willing and innocent potential purchasers. Although Glasto-veterans who have been going to the Festival for quite some time may recognise these scams for what they are, newcomers might not.

Please do not risk falling victim to touts, bogus operators or fake promotions / contests. If you have doubts about any company offering tickets, accommodation or competitions to access Glastonbury Festival, please get in touch with the Festival office – And as always, remember that tickets are sold only on one site, which is glastonbury.seetickets.com
