“The Chief” aka Noel Gallagher is set to make a very special appearance at Glastonbury Festival this year.

According to the official Glastonbury website, the Mat Whitecross’ 2016 Oasis documentary ‘Supersonic’ screening will personally be introduced by nonother than Brit-pop legend Noel Gallagher himself.

The film follows the meteoric rise of seminal ’90s rock band Oasis, from the very beginning right up to their famous Knebworth gigs in 1996. Weaving never-before-seen concert footage with candid interviews and a firsthand account of the backstage sibling rivalry that threatened to destroy the band.

Set to be screen at William’s Green on Friday, June 23, ‘Supersonic’ will be shown at 9 pm, before Club De Fromage and just after Charles Hazlewood and Army of Generals.

Speaking to NME, Whitecross said of the possibility of making a sequel to the film: “It’s something Liam has said off the cuff. I remember when he came in for the interviews, he was joking and said ‘Why we stopping here? I’m enjoying it lets keep going!’ If they were up for it I would love that… As a lifelong fan, I feel there’s definitely another film in there. If they were up for it, I’d be up for it.”

The Brit-pop Titan aka Noel Gallagher has yet to be booked for the festival, but with the initial line-up being unveiled, recent weeks have seen the festival dropping the individual bills for separate areas – each containing newly added surprises – so, who knows, we might see a surprise gig from Noel Gallagher or his brother, Liam.
