Roy Orbison Hologram

Roy Orbison hologram rumoured to play Glastonbury 2019

The ‘Big O’ aka Roy Orbison passed away in December 1988 aged 52 following a heart attack. However, his son Alex has admitted that his father’s death should not prevent him from playing the legends’ slot at Glastonbury 2019.

In an interview with The Sun, Alex Orbison said: “We would love to see Roy play Glastonbury, that would be the ultimate. This show would be perfect for that audience.”

He continued: “The technology is moving so fast. At first, we were told we could only play theatres, so we could control the interplay of the light. “But now the Roy Orbison hologram can play an outdoor festival, even in daylight, and it will still look good.”

As usual, at the time of publishing, this is all just another rumour to be added to the ever-growing Glasto Rumour Mill, but given the nature of the company’s holograms, one has to wonder if they could pull it off on the Pyramid stage.
