Taylor Swift sparks Glastonbury 2024 headliner rumours

Speculation mounts over the possibility of the American singer-songwriter finally taking to the iconic Pyramid Stage at Glastonbury Festival after confirming new global tour dates

Taylor Swift has now strongly re-entered the Glasto Rumour Mill as a potential headliner for Glastonbury 2024.

The recent speculation comes after Swift revealed the UK dates for her upcoming Eras Tour yesterday afternoon (Wednesday, 21st June), when fans were quick to notice a sizeable Glastonbury-shaped gap in the American star’s schedule.

The global tour for next year is set to include stops in Mexico, Japan, Spain, and a UK run which starts on 7th June and ends on 22nd June – before heading to Dublin on the 28th and 29th of that month, which is followed by a gap in her schedule until the 5th of July.

Although dates for next year’s Glastonbury have yet to be officially announced, going by previous years, the Festival usually takes place on the final full weekend of June. Therefore, for 2024 this could likely mean the event will take place between the 26th and 30th of June while leaving plenty of time for Taylor to hop over the Irish Sea to headline the Pyramid on Sunday the 30th of June – And although that would mean it would be a third gig in a row (following the two previous Ireland dates) it’s not something she hasn’t done in the past.

Swift was originally confirmed to headline the Pyramid Stage at Glastonbury back in 2020 before the iconic Festival was forced to cancel due to the worldwide pandemic.

Back in 2022, Glasto organiser Emily Eavis was also quoted in Variety as saying: “I think we’ve got Taylor on board next time she’s doing some touring – We would love to have her back, obviously.”

Whether or not it comes to pass remains to be seen, but as of this moment in time, we would categorise these speculations as a ‘Soft Rumour’.
